Thanks to all who participated in this year’s CSA! We had a great season even though the weather proved challenging at times. Our growing season was shorter than usual, we got frost on June 6th, which maimed half of the potato crop and and the first 2 rotations of broccoli and cabbage. We had fairly mild, wonderful weather for the next two months, which the alliums (garlic, onions and shallots) and basil loved.
The tomatoes seemed to stay green forever, and we had to pick them that way because of the frost the last week of August. Somehow the peppers managed to grow and ripen even with the heavy smoke.
Every year we learn a new trick and every year some crop totally takes a dive, due to weather, neglect or angry vegetable gods.
